The Plan: Restoring Hunky Dory in Two Phases

The goal of restoring Hunky Dory is simple: to honor my grandfather’s legacy and bring this beloved boat back to life—first for family, then for the future.

Phase One: Summer Ready
Our first mission is to get Hunky Dory safely back on the water for the upcoming summer. This includes essential repairs to the hull, interior refinishing, new seating, safety equipment, and a reliable motor setup. We want our family to spend time with her the way Grandpa Dan intended—enjoying the lake, making memories, and celebrating his life.

Phase Two: Long-Haul Upgrades
Once she's back afloat, we’ll move into upgrades for longer adventures. That includes installing navigation lights, a marine radio, speedometer, ect. These additions will make Hunky Dory more versatile and better suited for extended day trips or quiet evening rides.

Every step we take is a tribute—and a promise to keep her running for generations to come.
